The University participates in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program, in which borrowers obtain federal loan funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education. Loans are borrowed money and must be repaid by the student.

Graduate assistantship (GA) positions are available in many offices and departments on campus and provide an opportunity to gain valuable professional experience.

There's no income cut-off to qualify for federal student aid, and many factors besides income are considered. File the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 at Students whose FAFSA is received by Feb. 15 receive priority aid consideration. Be sure to list Xavier's federal school code: 003144.
